When to follow up
- Retesting may be recommended. Many people are advised to retest after around three months to confirm the infection has cleared and to check for re-exposure.
- Clinics can help if symptoms return or get worse. If something doesn't feel right, or new symptoms appear, the clinic that treated you can advise what to do next.
- NHS 111 can advise outside clinic hours. For severe or worsening symptoms when a clinic is closed, 111 can advise you on what to do next.
